Judith Rae, Named A Top Wedding Photographer in the World

I’m a native New Yorker of Brazilian heritage. Raised speaking Portuguese, I lived in Brazil for several years growing up. Art is in my soul, it is my DNA. I’m no stranger to adversity. At thirteen, I became pregnant and chose to raise my daughter Jessica, while attending high school in New York City. With the help of the LYFE Center (daycare for teen parents finishing high school) I was able to graduate.

In college I discovered my passion for photography, it became a way for me to share my voice. At twenty-seven I joined the 3% of teen mothers to graduated college while working to support myself and my daughter. It took a lot of perseverance because I have a learning disorder. Academics did not come easy for me.

Fast forward to today, I am hired by couples and brands worldwide photographing their personal stories and helping them share the passion they have for the life they lead and (in some cases) the products they sell; capturing a celebration of life. As for my daughter, she is now a young working professional with a college degree and like me, loves to travel!

I strongly believe in the act of self-care, daily gratitude, meditation, self-love and in the idea of lifetime learning. As a business owner and professional photographer, I am honored to have the opportunity to share some of the skills I believe helped me grow from where I once was to where I am today.
