Fundamentals of Natural Dyeing with Flowers and Food Waste

This workshop is the perfect primer to the world of at-home natural dyeing. Swati Bansal will show you how to bundle-dye your own silk square, including proper preparation, pattern making, and the post-dye drying and steaming process. Along the way, learn how to mordant cellulose and protein fibers, how to identify and use common household ingredients as dyestuffs, as well as how to extract and store color. Included is a natural dye resource guide highlighting the basic processes involved along with a few inspirational DIY projects using natural dyes.
